Low battery signals

Your system has two power sources, AC and DC power. AC power is supplied from the premises’ electricity and DC from a battery located within your system. If your battery runs low, we will receive an alarm at the Chubb Monitoring Centre. You will be notified if we receive a low battery signal.

Please note: We will notify you of a low battery at any time of the day, and on any day of the week that we receive the alarm. If you would like to be notified on a low battery alarm during daytime hours only, please contact Chubb as listed below:

If you are contacted regarding a low battery, you should follow the steps below:

  • 01. Check your dedicated circuit breaker switch to ensure it is on. If it is, please proceed to step 03. If it is off, turn the breaker back on. Please be aware however that if you are speaking with the Chubb Monitoring Centre and switch the breaker back on, you may lose communication because your Chubb system may use the same telephone line as your voice calls.
  • 02. When your breaker is back on, the low battery signal will reset.
  • 03. If the breaker is on, you will need to determine if the power is out within your area. If your power is out, your battery may be low because it is the only source of power to your system. When the power is back, the low battery signal will restore. If the power is not out within your area, please go to step 04.
  • 04. With the guidance from the Chubb Monitoring Centre, check the connections of your A/C adapter cable located by your CPU panel. If the cable is not connected adequately, please secure it. The low battery signal should then reset. If the cable is secure, a Chubb technician will need to service your system for resolution.
